A graduate of both Manchester and the Royal College of Art, Tessa has spent many years as a sculptor and lecturer. Her sensitively created sculptural forms of human torsos and feet demonstrate great anatomical understanding and her preferred medium, clay, she says is,
"unique as an expressive material in exploring what lies below the level of our consciousness. Clay and touch create immediate and intuitive results, what subconsciously emerges can then be reviewed and developed. Ceramic materials give me a huge variety of visual, physical and contrasting effects".
