Fractal Contemporary opened in 2008 to promote the work of mid-career and newly graduated artists and designers. Being based in Norwich seemed the best of both worlds: a lively arts scene in a beautiful city together with being near to London without the congestion charge!
Fractal’s founder, Lisa Thurlow comes from a career as an interior designer and lecturer at Brunel and De Montfort universities. She has spent the last 12 years working with up-and-coming artists aiming to make their mark,
"I wanted to do something to promote the work of new artists and designers graduating from art schools – so many have such great talent but find themselves unable to get their work promoted and out there; I wanted to be part of that exciting process".
Fractal is based in St Giles Street, within the historic lanes of Norwich and is just a minute’s walk from the city centre, (it’s also opposite the Waffle House which is very good for breakfast!)
